All About Zoya

How it all started

Zoya was created out of love! The love for our animals and the ability to spend time with them and providing the best for them as you would any family member.

After many months of trying to come up with a great business idea that would give us more time at home, we came up with the idea of creating pet and horse treats. Not just any treat but ones that would be all natural and healthy unlike many name brands that are on the market. You know the ones that have ingredients that you cannot even pronounce let alone want to ingest. With nearly 95% of our pet food in Canada coming from the USA, we felt it was important to pet and horse owners to be able to have more 'local' products. With more and more pet food recalls, pet owners are looking for a more natural product. So with a lot of research and consulting with professionals, we came up with some nutritious great tasting recipes (yes we taste test them too). We had many pets and horses taste test several different flavors and we came up with some winners. We are always trying to improve our product line to ensure flavor favorites and quality products. At Zoya we feel that we wouldn't feed our pets any treat we wouldn't be prepared to eat ourselves.

Now coming up with a name for our business was the next big challenge. So we combined the names of our two dogs Zoe and Freya and came up with 'Zoya'. After further research we found out that the name Zoya in other cultures meant: love, caring and life. How perfect! Everything that we wanted to portray in our company.

Our company is now looking at expanding into the UK and the USA.

Zoya Pet Products is a proud supporter of the SPCA and Humane Societies and donates a variety of products to various shelters for we feel that every animal deserves the best.
